I began making mosaics during my senior year at the San Francisco Art Institute. The first one I made was actually a Mother’s Day card for my mom. I enjoyed the process so much that I began making larger pieces, with the larges being a life size self portrait of myself. For me the mosaic process; adding one tiny piece of paper after another to the canvas surface, is an act of meditation. I make all of my mosaic chips out of paper that I wash with the desired colors. I have included my paintings on this page as well as they share similar subject matter and are an important part of my artistic journey. Recently I revisited printmaking, creating monotype prints that are loosely based on landscapes and still life scenes.
